Manitowoc Leads 2008 Kitchen Innovation Awards

ki2008NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla.—For the fourth year in a row, Manitowoc  (www.Manitowoc.com) has been recognized by the National Restaurant Association as a leader in foodservice equipment innovation with four (4) Kitchen Innovations 2008 Award presented by the National Restaurant Association Restaurant Hotel-Motel Show. The competition, judged by an independent panel of industry experts, recognizes trend-setting kitchen equipment thought to be among the most innovative in the world. This year’s Kitchen Innovation winners include the Frymaster® Protector™ Fryer, Garland Restaurant Range, Garland HE Broiler and the Lincoln 8005 Return Toaster. All winners will be showcased with live interactive demonstrations in the Kitchen Innovations Pavilion during the National Restaurant Show in May 2008.

Protector™ Fryer:

The Frymaster Protector Fryer with SMART4U™ technology has a 30 lb frypot that uses 40 percent less oil, but has the production capacity equal to 50 lb frypots. Its high-technology features automatically monitor frypot oil levels, replenish oil as needed, and alert the operator when the in-cabinet jug-inbox (JIB) oil supply needs changing. This also contributes towards over 50 percent annual savings in oil costs and significantly less oil into the waste stream, all while earning an ENERGY STAR® rating over 85 percent.

This new range has a unique, patent-pending, gas delivery design using a venturi and porting configuration that equalizes the heating around the burner thereby avoiding "hot spots." The consistent, even heating enables the operator to create improved quality and patron satisfaction.

High Efficiency (HE) Broiler:

This new charbroiler features continuous sparking to ensure constant flame and has no standing pilots that need to be shut down or restarted, or temperatures needing to be reestablished. With the HE Broiler, gas is turned off electrically and when relit, is turned on to the same pre-set temperatures across the burners.
